DANCING WITH THE STARS THEME SONG

Dedication, hard work and getting to know the business side of making music…

Let’s start with the basics! Tell us a little about you, where you’re from, what you do.

I grew up in Anaheim, CA but now based in Los Angeles. I am an electronic-pop artist and
songwriter.

How would your friends describe you in 3 words?

I think they would say organized, adventurous, and easy going.

How did your musical journey start? When/where did you decide to pursue music seriously?

I started out performing in musical theater and writing poetry in my free time. I was really
inspired by pop music at the time and decided to try writing my own songs. I ended up playing
around on the piano after learning a few chords. Then a friend of mine referred me to a
producer in my hometown and I took the songs to him. I ended up making my first pop EP and
haven’t looked back since.

What was the point where your career and name started to blow up? Was there a certain
song or event that kick started everything?

I put up my first EP online and I started having labels reach out to me which led me to writing for
other artists. I ended up getting some of my first big syncs from it such as the theme song for
Dancing with the Stars.

You’re very active on social media. What is your favorite social media platform?

I am! Tiktok is definitely my favorite platform right now. There’s so much freedom on it to post
different videos and have fun with it.

What challenges have you experienced in the music industry (or with songwriting, etc) and
how did you overcome it?

It’s a challenge to find the right people to collaborate with that you can trust. The business side
is also tricky and makes it so easy for people to take advantage of you if you don’t know it well. I
have made the effort to get to know the business side of the industry to be able to make better
decisions.

What are some changes you’d like to see happen in the music industry?

I would love to see producers and songwriters be paid fairly by the streaming platforms. It’s very
difficult to make a living right now as a musician off the current rates.

Can you tell us about some projects you’re working on currently?

I’m currently finishing up new music for my project to release and also working a lot on different
TV and film projects.

Over your years of success, have you learned anything unexpected about the industry? Is
there something you thought would be different?

I have found that musicians are really undervalued. I don’t think people realize how much time
and work goes into creating a song. I hope that musicianship can be more valued in the near
future.

Where do you go for inspiration? How do you get your creativity back when you feel stuck?

I love listening to music that I was inspired by when I was growing up. If that doesn’t work, I will
usually go to the beach or a coffee shop and start free writing.

Who do you admire as an artist? Who would you love to work with?

I have been really into Billie Eilish and Finneas lately. I think they are both such talented
musicians. I love the way they approach writing and have such a unique edge to their music. I’d
love to work with both of them!

What are your goals for this year, and what are you doing to make them happen?

My goal for this year is to release more music and tour. Right now, I’m finishing up a bunch of
singles to release throughout the year.
